    The Ambition

    The Architextural brand is one of three entities within the William Smith Group 1832. Initially, we designed and developed the main website and eCommerce platform for William Smith. However, as the group expanded, the need arose for individual websites for Smith, the sign-making division, and Architextural, catering to the architecture and building industry.

    While the Smith brand has long been a cornerstone of the William Smith Group 1832, Architextural represents a new venture within the group. This division allows for the consolidation of all information related to architectural and building films under a single brand.

    In response to the establishment of a distinct brand and division within the group, the marketing team at William Smith sought a website with its own unique identity while also being seamlessly integrated into its existing web content management platform.

    What We Did

    Under the guidance of our skilled digital producer, a team comprising designers and developers collaborated to create a fully responsive website highlighting William Smith’s latest division.

    The website's design diverges significantly from that of its parent group, although it incorporates certain elements to maintain brand cohesion, such as the inclusion of William Smith Group’s signature three diagonal lines. A user-friendly menu facilitates easy navigation, enabling visitors to explore relevant sections effortlessly. Architextural offers a range of films tailored for various sectors, including retail, hospitality, marine, education, and others. Each sector has its own dedicated section detailing the features and benefits of the films for that specific application.

    Interactive Images

    Before and after photographs are one of the best ways of demonstrating the dramatic difference Architextural products can make to the buildings they are applied to.

    We created interactive images which have a slide divider on them which can be dragged from side to side revealing before and after versions of the same photograph. This slide and reveal style is more engaging than side by side images of the same building application. This type of user interaction can be added to images across the website using the custom content management system we built William Smith.

    Integration

    The marketing team of The William Smith Group sought to establish a distinct identity for the Architextural site while ensuring centralised management through their primary content management system.

    Given our involvement in designing and constructing the William Smith Group's main eCommerce website and CMS, seamlessly incorporating another site into the system was a straightforward process. This ability to extend, adapt, and integrate new sites underscores the significant advantage of a custom-built content management platform.

    William Smith has already leveraged this flexibility by integrating a site for their sign-making division, Smith, a sibling brand to Architextural.
